The Dhaka-5 area covers the wards 48-50 and 60-70 under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DNCC).

It mentioned that the Ministry of Public Administration has declared a general holiday in the areas for the by-polls, while it is also a weekly holiday.
"Local officials of any bank won't be allowed to keep those open in the areas on the day, not even under any special arrangement," the central bank said.
