Barisal-Patuakhali Bus and Minibus Owners' Association calls off the indefinite strike on 38 routes of six districts under Barisal division following a meeting with the local administration.

Barisal-Patuakhali Bus and Minibus Owners' Association called off their indefinite strike on 38 routes of six districts under Barisal division following a meeting with the local administration last night.

Kawser Hossain Shipon, general secretary of the association, said they decided to withdraw the strike around 10:00pm as the local administration and police assured them of taking action against the human haulier workers who assaulted their leader.
The association enforced the strike for an indefinite period yesterday morning after its president Nazrul Islam Khan was assaulted by some human haulier workers on Barisal-Patuakhali road in Dapdapia area on Monday.
Thousands of passengers suffered much following the bus strike that lasted for about 16 hours.
