Fog halts Daulatdia-Paturia ferry services for 3hrs

Ferry services between Daulatdia and Paturia terminals remained suspended for three and a half hours due to thick fog, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) halted ferry services on the route around 5:30am due to the dense fog, said BIWTA Manager Md Shafiqul Islam told the daily.

Besides, a ferry got stuck in the mid river causing immense suffering to its passengers, the manager said.

The ferry services resumed around 9:00am after the sky became clear, the daily reports.
