Miscreants vandalise five idols of Hindu gods and goddesses in Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur.

Miscreants vandalised five idols of Hindu gods and goddesses in Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur early today.

Dulal Bormom, a worshiper of Gan Jogdia Sarbojanin Kali Mandir, said that he found the damaged idols of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, and gods-- Ganesh and Kartik -- in the temple near the upazila health complex this morning.

Miscreants broke into the Durga temple between 2:00 am and 4:00 am and damaged the idols, he suspected.

AFM Nasim, officer-in-charge of Nagarkanda Police Station, said a case has been filed against unidentified persons. “We are trying to arrest the criminals.”
