For the first time in the country’s history pythons were born in Chattogram zoo through incubators today.

A total of 26 pythons were born in the Zoo this morning, Shahadat Hossain Shuvo, curator of the zoo, told our Chattogram staff correspondent.

"We tried hatching 35 eggs that a python laid in the zoo but succeeded with 26 eggs after 60 days," he said.

The zoo authorities would nurture the hatchlings in the zoo until they become strong enough to survive by themselves and then free them in their natural habitat, the official added.
