Zero tolerance to malpractice in universities: UGC

Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan says they will show zero tolerance to any irregularity and malpractice in the country’s universities.

Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan today said they would show zero tolerance to any irregularity and malpractice in the country's universities.

He made the remark while addressing a views-exchange meeting with vice-chancellors, pro vice-chancellors, treasurers, registrars and other high officials of the country's 37 public universities at the UGC auditorium.

The UGC chairman urged the vice-chancellors to strictly abide by public financial and administrative rules, and also the UGC guidelines.

Prof Mannan also asked the university authorities to design and implement the development projects in time.

UGC Members Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Dr Md Akhtar Hossain and Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali were present at the meeting, said a press release.
