Def Leppard to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame this october
Legendary rock band Def Leppard will be honoured with the 2,825th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, October 9, at 11:30 a.m. PT. The ceremony will feature guest speakers Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Resnikoff, president and CEO of Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), and will be hosted by Sirius XM radio personality Bob Buchmann.
The band's star will be placed at 1750 N. Vine Street, directly in front of the iconic Capitol Records building. Fans around the world can watch the celebration via a live stream on the Hollywood Walk of Fame website.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, shared in a statement: "Def Leppard has earned a permanent place not only in music history but now on one of the most famous sidewalks in the world."
This recognition comes after the band's 2019 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, where Queen's Brian May presented the honor. Over their career, Def Leppard has achieved two U.S. Diamond-certified albums — "Hysteria" (12 million) and "Pyromania" (10 million). They've also topped the Billboard 200 with "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize", and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit "Love Bites".
The current lineup includes Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar), and Rick Allen (drums).
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which has overseen Walk of Fame ceremonies since 1960, continues to honor global icons with stars that draw millions of visitors each year.
