Farida Parveen on life support, family seeks prayers

Renowned Lalon singer Farida Parveen is in critical condition, with her natural breathing having ceased, according to her elder son Imam Zafar Numanee. He shared the heartbreaking news on social media, revealing that the artiste is currently on life support in the intensive care unit of a private medical college hospital in Dhaka.

In a Facebook post, Imam Zafar Numanee wrote, "For everyone's information, my mother (Farida Parveen) has been on life support since Wednesday (September 10) afternoon. From that time her normal breathing completely stopped and she has no blood pressure."

He added, "Doctors are now using the highest level of medication to artificially restore her blood pressure and are keeping her lungs functioning through machines. It is deeply painful that even in these final moments, some unscrupulous individuals are attempting financial fraud under various pretences."

Warning well-wishers, he said, "I urge everyone once again to remain cautious. Several government ministries are in regular contact with our family, and the hospital authorities are providing full cooperation."

Numanee further stated, "On behalf of the family, we confirm that no financial or other assistance is needed for my mother's treatment. Please pray for her. May Allah, in His infinite mercy, make her final moments peaceful and serene. Ameen."
