Yasmin Mushtari launches her own digital archive
Renowned Nazrul Sangeet artiste Yasmin Mushtari grew up in a cultural family environment where literature, poetry, journalism, and music were integral. From childhood to the present day, she has remained immersed in music through performance, teaching, and practice. She began making her mark from an early age by participating in various competitions, including Bangladesh Television.
On September 8, the celebrated artiste marks her birthday. To commemorate the occasion, she has gifted her fans, well-wishers, and admirers at home and abroad the Digital Archive of Yasmin Mushtari. With just one click, visitors can access the singer's extensive life and work on this web platform, which includes her biography, songs, audio, video, awards, achievements, album information, song details, rare photographs, published news, interviews, media activities, and event records.
The concept and development of the Digital Archive of Yasmin Mushtari were carried out by Versedsoft Ltd., an IT infrastructure development company.
Speaking about the archive, Yasmin Mushtari said, "I am essentially a singer. Since childhood, my life has revolved around music — through performance, teaching, and recording new songs. Amid this busy life, I seldom had time to reflect on myself. Yet, I always had a quiet desire to preserve my works and achievements for the future. Although I have safeguarded hard copies of most of my records, much has already been lost. Another issue I noticed is the abundance of incorrect information on the internet — from misspellings of names to misleading details. For any public figure, this can be frustrating. Sometimes it becomes impossible to distinguish between real and fake. Many such errors even make everything seem false. Nowadays, people trust free social platforms less. But when accurate information is compiled in one personal archive and linked with my other platforms, there is no scope for misinformation or doubt. From now on, everything about me will be available through this platform."
Fahim Faisal, managing director of Versedsoft Ltd. and a musician himself, said, "Over time I have observed that most of our artistes and media personalities do not have a personal web platform, though it has become a necessity of the age. From that thought, I began working on the concept of digital archives. I constantly research which areas can help develop our media and creative industries. This digital archive of Yasmin Mushtari Apa is a reflection of that research."
