What’s happening in Dhaka today?

After a few weeks of facing scorching heat, a soothing rain has graced the capital city today. Along with the rainy breeze, the capital seems have taken a festive mood with multiple cultural activates to taking place around the city today.

The city of Dhaka has finally been enveloped in a soothing rain, beating out the heat that had plagued residents over the last few weeks. On a note of celebration, here are some entertaining activities that are taking place in the capital today.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) is currently hosting the 25th National Art Exhibition. Spanning from Gallery 1 to 7, the exhibition is open between 11 am to 8 pm.

BSA is also going to host a cultural programme, with participation from the youth, called "Notun Jouboner Dut".The programme will take place at 6 pm today, at the auditorium of National Music and Dance Centre.

On the other hand, at 6:30 pm in the main auditorium of the National Theater Hall, BSA, Ekota Natyagoshthi will stage Humayun Ahmed's Liberation War based play, "1971".

At the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity, Nagorik Natya Sampradaya will be staging the story of Rabindranath's "Chitrangada" in a play titled, "Ontore Bahire Chitrangada". The play will take place at 7:30 pm.
