Bradley Cooper is set to star alongside Margot Robbie in the upcoming "Ocean's Eleven" prequel, a new addition to Warner Bros.' stylish heist franchise.

The film will serve as a prelude to Steven Soderbergh's 2001 blockbuster "Ocean's Eleven," which starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. That film — itself a remake of the 1960 Rat Pack classic "Ocean's 11" — followed a group of con artists robbing hundreds of millions from Las Vegas casinos, and went on to become a critical and commercial hit, spawning two sequels and a female-led spinoff.

Lee Isaac Chung, best known for directing "Twisters" and the Oscar-nominated "Minari," will helm the prequel, taking over from Jay Roach, who was originally attached to direct. The screenplay is penned by Carrie Solomon and is expected to be set in 1960s Europe, offering a glamorous and retro twist to the franchise's signature high-stakes heist formula.

While the title has not yet been confirmed, fans are already speculating about what number will follow. With "Ocean's Twelve," "Ocean's Thirteen," and "Ocean's Eight" already taken, it remains to be seen how Robbie and Cooper's mission will be distinguished — especially as George Clooney recently teased that an "Ocean's Fourteen" with Damon, Pitt, and Roberts could begin shooting next year.

Cooper's upcoming directorial project, "Is This Thing On?," a dramatic comedy inspired by the life of British comedian John Bishop, is set to premiere at the New York Film Festival. The film stars Will Arnett and Laura Dern and marks Cooper's third directorial effort after "A Star Is Born" and "Maestro."

In front of the camera, Cooper remains one of Hollywood's most versatile stars, known for performances in "The Hangover," "Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle," and "American Sniper."
