More than 2,500 army personnel divided in 290 teams are discharging their duties in 61 districts to contain the spread of coronavirus.

More than 2,500 army personnel divided in 290 teams are discharging their duties in 61 districts today to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The army personnel have been deployed on Wednesday following government's decision, considering the risk of transmission and spread of coronavirus in the country, says a press release of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

"Today, 290 teams of Army have been working together with the local administration to contain coronavirus in 61 districts. The army men are doing their activities from the local cantonments without setting up outside camps," the release added.

The army in coordination with the district magistrates is encouraging general public to maintain social distancing and precautionary measures in the divisional and district cities. Besides, they are also monitoring the issue of compulsory quarantine of those who have returned from abroad, the release added.
