Miscreants torched at least eight vehicles at different parts of Dhaka and Narayanganj today.

The arson attacks took place ahead of the fresh spell of BNP-led 20-party alliance enforced 72-hour countrywide hartal scheduled to begin from 6:00am tomorrow.

Unidentified miscreants torched two covered vans and a bus in Jatrabari area this evening, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told The Daily Star.

Two private cars were also torched by alleged pickets in Mouchak and Khilgaon areas around 6:40pm.

Earlier in the afternoon, criminals torched two buses each in Kakoli rail crossing area and Mirpur-10 intersection.

Meanwhile, pro-hartal activists allegedly torched a bus in Narayanganj city around 2:35pm.

No one was reported injured in the incidents till filing the report at 8:40pm.
