BNP leader Annie sent to jail after surrender

BNP student affairs secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie was sent jail today after two Dhaka courts denied him bail in nine violence cases.

He surrendered before the court this morning and sought bail in the cases of Paltan and Motijheel police stations. Two separate courts held the hearings.

The courts of Metropolitan Magistrate Shariar Mahmud Adnan and Metropolitan Magistrate Younus Khan passed the orders after hearing.

Annie is accused in the first information report (FIR) of all the nine cases.
