BNP’s Mizan remanded over sabotage attempt
BNP national executive committee member Maj (Retd) Mizanur Rahman has been remanded over charges of attempting to sabotage Gazipur City Corporation election.
He was shown arrested in a case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station. Case statement said he planned to sabotage yesterday’s election at Kalabagan Club on Monday.

Investigating Officer Arman Ali, a Detective Branch inspector, produced him before court today and sought him in custody for seven days for quizzing in custody.
After hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mazaharul Huq granted the detective to question Maj (Retd) Mizanur Rahman for two days.
Mizanur Rahman was picked up from his Gulshan residence on the wee hours of yesterday, hours ahead of the Gazipur City Corporation election that saw Awami League’s Jahangir Alam win by a landslide margin.
