Mirza Abbas’ nomination for Dhaka-9 ‘not accepted’

BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas alleges that his nomination paper for Dhaka-9 constituency has not been accepted by the Election Commission.
BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas today alleged that the Election Commission did not accept his nomination paper for Dhaka-9 constituency.
“The returning officer did not accept his nomination paper for Dhaka-9,” Mizanur Rahman Sohel, personal secretary of Mirza Abbas, told The Daily Star.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. On the other hand, the BNP leader has submitted his nomination paper for Dhaka-8 constituency and his wife Afroza Abbas submitted nomination paper for Dhaka-9, Sohel also said.
Abbas submitted the nominations through his representatives, he added.
The Daily Star could not get any comment of the commission in this regard.
