Although I have not been able to visit all the Classical Music Festivals in the world, I have had the fortune to attend some Classical Fests in Delhi and Kolkata while I was studying in India.

At Bengal Foundation we believe in a broad and inclusive arts engagement. In an effort to introduce new voices and perspectives to the community and festivals that engage people to become lifelong arts and cultural participants or practitioners, we have, over the years, cumulatively brought visual art, music, architecture, literature, performance arts, promotion of crafts and cinema, into the fold.

The five-day Grand Classical Music Festival has just concluded. The entire event was full of outstanding melodies, vocal-instrumental, and energy, serenity and deep feelings.

I woke up at 4 in the morning towards the end of November to go to the washroom. On my way back to the bed, as I crossed my reading table, my attention was drawn towards the sound of music that was seeping through my glass paned window.

What are your feelings after getting the Celebrating Life- Lifetime Achievement Award?

I am dedicating this speech to a young man who selflessly sacrificed his life for his friends, Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain.

I am absolutely delighted to know that I got this award. Since I pursued this career option on my own interest, I had a lot to prove to myself and to the people that believed in me.

This is my third time getting an award for Celebrating Life. While the excitement of getting an award for the first time is not quite there, I am really grateful for this nonetheless at this always provides a huge boost to me and my career.

I have been doing photography simply out of passion and so to win an award for something that I love makes me feel elated. I never really expected to actually be rewarded for my efforts.
