Bangladesh suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat against hosts Malaysia in their second match of the AFC Futsal Cup Qualifiers at Stadium Tertutup Sukpa in Kuantan on Tuesday.

Coming into the game on the back of a 12-0 thrashing by defending champions Iran, Bangladesh looked for a stronger display and briefly found hope when Fayed Azim cancelled out Malaysia's seventh-minute opener with an equaliser just a minute later.

But the lack of experience in their maiden international futsal campaign soon showed, as Malaysia restored the lead in the 16th minute before adding five more goals. The hosts struck in the 18th, 23rd, 28th, and twice in the 36th minute to seal a comprehensive victory.

Bangladesh will conclude their group-stage campaign against the United Arab Emirates on September 24.
