Magura man Halim breaks Guinness record again
Abdul Halim of Magura has once again etched his name in the Guinness World Records, his fourth such feat. The 49-year-old recently balanced a football on his head while cycling 20.20 km, an effort officially verified and recognised by Guinness authorities.
Known for his unusual balancing skills, Halim cycled non-stop for 1 hour and 49 minutes at Magura Indoor Stadium without once dropping or hand-touching the ball.
He already held similar records in 2011, 2015, and 2017 -- walking 15.2 km with a ball on his head, roller-skating 100 metres in 27.66 seconds, and cycling 13.74 km, respectively.
"I've been practising for 33 years. This is not just passion, it's my profession," said Halim, who studied up to class eight.
Halim -- a resident of Chhaygharia village under Shatkhali union in Shalikha upazila -- admitted financial struggles remain his biggest hurdle: "Without support, how can someone like me continue?
"If I can't survive, how will others be inspired?"
Magura Deputy Commissioner Ohidul Islam praised Halim's achievement, saying the district is proud of him. "We showcase his skills at national events, but with private sponsorship he can go even further."
