Public's very existence depends on the democratic process

The primary requirement for a democracy is the management of the state as per the consent of the people. This consent is imparted through fair elections. Once this primary requirement has been fulfilled, a government must then continue with the democratic process. But how is the democratic process faring in Bangladesh, 51 years after the country's independence?
