The Awami League's 22nd national council is underway after Prime Minister and the party President Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the event this morning.

The 22nd national council of ruling Awami League will be held in the capital tomorrow with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as its longest-serving president.

The ruling Awami League is all set to hold its 22nd triennial national council on December 24 with only one thing certain: Sheikh Hasina, who has been leading the party since 1981 after she returned home from a long exile, will be reelected as the AL president for the 10th time.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader clears his party’s stance over student politics saying that the politicians start their career from student politics and thus his party does not support banning it.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader categorically says that the national council of the party will be held in October this year.
