Dhaka’s film producers have reached a consensus on the demand for a fair share of revenue from cinema halls. On Wednesday (May 14) afternoon, several producers held a meeting at a restaurant in Gulshan-2 to address this long-standing issue. Photos from the meeting were later shared on social media.

After more than a decade, popular actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha is set to return to Bangladesh Television (BTV) through its upcoming Eid special magazine programme “Anandamela”. The actress will be seen performing to a medley of three songs for the show.

The “Something Like An Autobiography” director presented her with a beautiful ring, and the actress was overwhelmed by the wonderful surprise.

Recently, Bangladesh's renowned filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki suffered a cerebral attack, and now his daughter, Ilham Nusrat Farooki, is unwell.

Director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has been hospitalised due to a minor brain stroke. Currently, he is under observation in the Neuro-ICU as per the doctors' advice.

Farooki will be taking part in the prestigious festival as a “Jury International”, alongside Iranian director Moshen Makhmalbaf, Taiwanese director Zero Chou and Japanese actor, Shogen, confirmed the festival authority on Monday.

“When are you going to have a baby?” is the question that Tithi, portrayed by Nusrat Imrose Tisha, is met with, within the initial five minutes of “Something Like an Autobiography”. It is unfortunately safe to say that even in the year 2023, people somehow find it acceptable to ask this to most married individuals, who especially face these after they've been married for a good number of years.

The singer-turned-actor, Tisha, used to sing and started her career as a musician and even had a band of her own named “'Angels Four” with prominent musician sensations of the country, Dilshad Nahar Kona, Nafisa, and Rumana.

After learning all these praises and reactions after the release of the film, Farooki became emotional and posted on Facebook to thank everyone.

The song, titled “Jochonar Phool”, is written by Chirkutt frontline Sharmin Sultana Sumi and she jointly tuned and composed it with the songwriter and Chirkutt member Pavel Areen. The latter also produced the song. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki himself released the song on Wednesday through his Facebook profile.

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has successfully concluded filming of his most recent project, "Last Defenders of Monogamy". The film features renowned actor Chanchal Chowdhury, known for his roles in "Karagar" and "Hawa", alongside musician Xefer Rahman. Additionally, the cast includes Samina Husain Prema and Shuddho Rai.

During the premiere, Shyam Benegal expressed, "To be honest, I've immensely enjoyed working on this film. It's a great honor that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Mujib's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, enjoyed the movie."

Prior to this, Farooki mentioned, "The work on 'Autobiography' is complete, the festival screenings are over, and there is a sense of peace I feel about the film. In two days, it will be screened in Mumbai. And within just a few days, we will have to deliver the film to the distributors, so that everyone can watch it soon."
