Operations restarted around 5:30pm today

Rail communication between Dhaka and Chattogram, as well as Dhaka and Sylhet on the down line, resumed this evening, five hours after a bogie of the Titas Commuter Train derailed at Talshahar Railway Station in Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj upazila.

Operations restarted around 5:30pm today after a rescue team removed the derailed bogie, railway officials said.

Md Nazmul Hossain, master of Brahmanbaria Railway Station, said the bogie next to the engine of the Dhaka-Brahmanbaria-bound commuter train derailed upon arrival at Talshahar station around noon. Following the incident, rail communication on the down line with Dhaka remained suspended.

A rescue train from Akhaura was dispatched to the spot and began salvage work. Train movement resumed once the derailed bogie was removed.
