AL leader’s slit-throat body found in Dhaka

Police recovered the slit-throat body of an Awami League leader from West Sanarpar in Dhaka’s Demra area this morning.

Deceased Anamul Huq Gias was AL general secretary of ward No. 8 in Dhaka, said Shirajul Islam, officer –in-charge of Demra Police Station.

“Informed by locals, we recovered the body from a garden. His throat was slit,” the OC said.

Reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, he added.
