Bill seeks action against NGOs for ‘indecent remarks’ on constitutional bodies

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law finalises a bill with recommendation to include a provision to take actions against any NGO for making ‘indecent comments’ about different constitutional bodies.

A parliamentary body today finalised a bill with recommendation for government to include a provision in the bill to take actions against any NGO for making 'indecent comments' about different constitutional bodies.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law came up with the recommendation at a meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban while finalising the bill Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation (Amendment) Act.

Suranjit Sengupta, chief of the parliamentary watchdog and also a ruling Awami League lawmaker, briefed reporters after the meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Media Centre this afternoon.
