The body of a fisherman is recovered while 10 others remain missing after a fishing trawler sank almost 20 kilometres away from Matarbari island in Moheshkhali.
The body of a fisherman was recovered while 10 others remained missing after a fishing trawler sank almost 20 kilometres away from Matarbari island in Moheshkhali today.
Confirming the incident, Lft Commander Md Saiful Islam, station officer of Coastguard in Moheshkhali said members of Navy and Coastguard are carrying out a rescue operation.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. After the trawler sank, LNG ship and fishing boat ‘Sea Power’ immediately rescued 13 fishermen including a dead from Bay of Bengal.
There were 23 people on the fishing trawler that sank in the Moheshkhali channel.
Rescue operatuion are on to trace the whereabouts of the missing fisermen, added Saiful.
