Theatre Art Unit marks 34th anniversary with new play ‘Boloy’
“Boloy” is an intellectual drama about conscience and escape. It stages an extended encounter among three archetypal figures — a politician, a scientist, and a theologian — each trapped in the competing claims of politics, society, religion and power. All three, unable to resolve their inner conflicts, turn to a psychiatrist in search of liberation from doubt and contradiction.

‘In Search of Peace’: A spark of artistic serenity
Galerie Zoom at Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) inaugurated a solo art exhibition by Sadrul Rafi titled “In Search of Peace” on October 17, 2025. The event was graced by Ekushey Padak–winning artist Professor Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash, who praised Rafi’s artistic finesse and the depth of his imagination.

Kheyali marks 50 years with two-day festival at Shilpakala
The festival will open on Thursday evening with “Kangaler Joto Kotha”, a special presentation featuring songs, poems, and plays written by Kheyali’s founder AKA Kabir. The second day will feature the troupe’s musical and dance drama “Manush Hobo”, which explores themes of humanity, compassion, and social consciousness.

Counter Foto exhibits Molla Sagar’s documentary film on Ritwik Ghatak
Ritwik Kumar Ghatak’s home in Rajshahi, was demolished by the locals post-July on 5 and August, 2024 by the locals in what seemed like a communal rift. The Rajshahi cultural society had petitioned as far back as 2017 to preserve it as a heritage site, but their appeals went unheard. The situation is tragic but it opens the door to important conversations about the necessity of preservation of culture and art.
