Nabid treble powers Daily Star into last 16

Nabid Yeasin scored a hattrick as The Daily Star moved into the Last 16 of the Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament with a 3-1 win against Dhaka Post in their first match at the Paltan Outer Stadium on Tuesday.

The Daily Star will square off against Dhaka Tribune in the pre-quarterfinals.

Daily Star's star centre-forward Nabid scored twice in the first half before adding another after the lemon break to set the former champions on their way to a comfortable victory.

Dhaka Post, however, scored a consolation goal a minute before the final whistle, denying a clean sheet to Ashfaq-Ul-Alam, who has been in inspiring form since he took over the keeping gloves for his side.  

Samama Rahman, Abdullah Al Mehdi, Khalid Hossain, Sabbir Hossain, Shabab Chowdhury and Fahd Mannan -- all played their part in the comfortable victory ahead of their big match against Dhaka Tribune.
