To commemorate the legacy of playwright, actor, and director Syed Mohidul Islam, a festival titled Syed "Mohidul Islam Sharan Utsab 2021", will commence from November 5-12 at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).  The event is organised by Batikrom Nattyagoshthi.

A grand celebration was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, marking eminent actor and Member of Parliament Asaduzzaman Noor’s 75th birthday today. The event, titled Tomari Hok Joy,  was organised by the Asaduzzaman Noor Jayanti Uddojapon Jatiyo Committee, spearheaded by Professor Anup Roy. Renowned thespians Ramendu Majumdar and Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu were joint conveners of the event.

Bangladesh Art Week (BAW) launched three distinct yet correlated exhibitions, “Connection”, “I•D•E•N•T•I•T•Y WHO ARE YOU....TODAY?”, and “Undefined Territory” in Dubai, which will be on display till November in Dubai.

 A three-day theatre festival concluded at Mymensingh Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday night.

The two-day “Anne Frank Fest”, organised by Mad Theatre, was held at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity from October 22. Prominent artist Manan Morshed’s dual solo exhibition, “Shut out of Site”, is currently taking place at Dwip Gallery in Lalmatia and the British High Commission Residence Project Space in Baridhara.

Galleri Kaya has organised a group exhibition in Uttara to commemorate their 17th anniversary and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the same time. The exhibition features 76 selected artworks by 32 modern and contemporary artists from 1952 to 2021.

The Liberation War Museum and Alliance Française de Dhaka have jointly organised the solo photography exhibition, "Bangladesh 1971: Mourning and Morning" by Marc Riboud. The exhibition's opening ceremony was held at the Liberation War Museum on October 16.

Echoing gunshots and rattling rifles took over the stage as marching, helpless, and unaware Bangla speakers first encountered the brutality of the Pakistani Army on March 25, 1971. Amidst fluttering lights, roaring grenades and the dead, some were silenced and some still left with a couple of breaths. They were lying, drenched in blood. This is how Bangladesh Ballet Troupe’s dance drama “Battle of Bangladesh” began at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Bengal Foundation recently organised screenings of two documentaries at Bengal Shilpalay in order to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence, read a press release.

Mong Mong Sho’s exhibition, “Songs of Fishermen” is currently taking place at EMK Center in Dhaka. A painter from Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, Mong works with oil paints and watercolours. In 2010, he got into the University of Chittagong, and after two years, he received the Yunnan Provincial Scholarship to study oil painting at the Fine Art Faculty of Yunnan Arts University in Kunming, China. He completed his Bachelor’s in oil painting in 2016 and Master’s in watercolour in 2019. He now teaches at the same university.
